Comments: This one was contributed by Kent Songer from his extensive collection. Kent sent me scans of 40 covers, almost all of which were hardback editions, all of which were in excellent condition. I will post the publishing/artist info here soon. Thanks Kent!

I love this cover. It's very understated with the Salamander necklace and just a bit of fire in the background. The Burning is also one of my favorite GM novels.

Comments: Ron Sutton comes up with things that give you an idea of the time he has invested in his mega-collection of GM's books. Here is an uncorrected proof of 'The Burning' from TOR. What a fantastic thing to see. Thanks Ron.

Comments: An audio edition of 'The Burning' from Don Cool of GM message board fame. Don Cool says of this one:
My scanner has suddenly decided to start working again so I have had a root about and come up with a GM curiosity you may not have seen. It's THE BURNING audio book read by some B grade porno star reject who I've never heard of.

Haven't listened to it myself.. yet. Can't help but feel that on 2 tapes it will be heavily abridged. If the kinky rude bits have been left in I'll be very surprised!

I was reading on Horrornet a bit from a guy who thought GM was way too over the top with violence because of the Burning. He described a scene where a car blew up and said something like "And Masterton couldn't just kill the driver, he had to have a hubcap fly off and decapitate a gardener across the street". I laughed my ass off when I read that. I gave my sister in law a copy of Death Trance and was surprised at her reaction to the violence. She loved the book but was jarred by the rape/murder sequence. I guess I have read so much GM I expect and enjoy all the overt violence and nastiness. That's why they call it horror, folks.

BTW - to be fair to David Dukes, here is his Internet Movie Database entry. So maybe he's not the best actor in the world... Okay, so HE'S DEFINITELY NOT THE BEST ACTOR IN THE WORLD. But he's working and that's a lot in Hollywood.

Comments: A French edition of 'The Burning'. As Steve Martin once said in his standup routine, "Those French, they have a different word for everything!". This cover is typical of the Pocket series of GM's books in France. This is a great illustration fo the initial scene from the book in which the young lady incinerates herself in front of McDonalds, which is what most Parisians would do before they would be caught eating there.

Thanks to Laurent for scanning in his collection!
